Day&Night

The Documentary Edge Festival is on RIGHT NOW, which means there are plenty of inspirational and interesting things to see.

You may have noticed that our Stomping Grounds in Kingsland had a couple of sponsors, and I wanted to talk about that, just briefly (and not in a boring way).

Joseph Moore is a writer, director, actor and now stand-up comedian. He has been involved in the Comedy Festival for five years with hits such as ‘Bombs Away! A Musical’, ‘Space Race’ and this year he went to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival with ‘Fanfiction Comedy’.

Tucked behind the trainline just off Sandringham Road is a café called Crave. They serve Supreme Coffee and have a cabinet filled with sandwiches and sweet treats that are baked fresh each day in the kitchen. The menu is huge, and the portion sizes generous.

Festival season is upon us, and none are more colourful than the Auckland Pride Festival, which opens officially tonight with a Gala at Q Theatre.

Can it be February already? Can it? Apparently it can. I've been looking into everything that's going on this month and I can't help thinking that time would slow down a little for the month ahead, because there is so much to fit into it and it would be a real shame to miss anything.

We came to the Waterfront almost two months ago now, and we're feeling a bit nostalgic about moving on. Why? Because we've discovered a real sense of excitement down here - and it's growing.
