Submission Guidelines

We're primarily interested in the faces and places of Auckland. So if you'd like to write about one or both of those two things, send our Ed an email and suggest it, she likes emails.

We also love reviews - of films, plays, gigs, exhibitions and etc. Seen something you can't stop thinking about? Write it on a page and send it our way. We're interested. It should be noted, however, that our reviews aren't traditional in any sense. It would be better to call them RaRs - response and recommendations. If you write a RaR for us it needs to relate directly to your personal experience of the event that you're reviewing.

The above rant on RaR is probably the most important thing to know about gather & hunt before you start writing for us. We're purely interested in personal response and recommendation. Everything must be in first person. Everthing must relate to how you felt at the time - it's telling the story of your experience. This is because we're not interested in telling people what to like, we're interested in telling them why we like things. We try to inspire by example. Need further clarification? Ask.

Please note: although we occasionally run incentive schemes for our contributors; financial rewards for submissions are not guaranteed, and should not be expected. Do it for love and glory and creativity. That way if you do get something out of it, it's a bonus.
